musukunda mannaer was having lepracy (kushtam), he have taken lot of
medicine, it was not cured for longtime,all the doctors advised
him there is no medicine for this disease ,only way is to pray
god.Then he consulted his advisers as per their suggestion ,he
started to pray god siva where ever temple is available.Then some of
his ADVISERS suggested to take bath all pools available on the way
they were going,as per that he started take bath and pray near the
pool. when he reached MUSIRI a village which is in Pattukkottai
taluk ,Thanjavur dist,Tamilnadu,they find a small pool surrouded by
trees and bush. They became tired and day light becoming dim so they
planned to halt there with their group king musukundas dog aiso
came,and also the dog was having the lepracy. At the time of their
rest the dog had a bath in that pool , next day morning they find
out that the dog have some cureness.Then everybody in the group
suggested to stay there for some more time to cure the king
Musukunda.The king started to take bath in the pool , after few
days the King also felt some cureness. Then he stayed there and
took bath in that pool ,very short period he was completly cured
also his dog.He decided to built a Lord SIVA temple by the side of
the pool,he called ministers and ordered to built the siva temple
that is named as KAILASANATHER TEMPLE.He ruled there as a kurunila
manner king MUSUKUNDA wich includes 32 villages ,capital is
MUSIRI .THE 32 VILLAGES ARE 1)MUSIRI, 2)ALAMPALLAM, 3)ALATHUR, 4)
MULLORPATTIKKADU, 5)PULAVANCHY,6)KARUPPUR, 7)MADUKKUR, 8)
MOOTHAKURICHY, 9)SILAMBAVELANKADU ,10)KASANGADU, 11)MANNANGADU,12)
THAMARANKOTTAI, 13)SENGAPALATHANKADU, 14)VENDAKKOTTAI,15)

other places and sttled which are recently included in the
musukunda velalar communitty list are VATTAKUDI, SURAPPALLAM AND
PATTUKKOTTAI. The velalar communitty belongs to musukunda nattu
vellalar community and also karkathar community because all are
agriculturist .This velalar communitty is not in the list of
tamilnadu government ,for educationand & employment we have to give
our communitty where the place given,people find VIRAKODI velalar
is available in the list . So everybody started to use virakodi
vellalar as their communitty. May be the feature generation wil
fogot the real
communitty.
